Jesse's birthday was in the middle of the week so we did a little celebrating the weekend before. We had dinner at a BBQ restaurant " THE HORNY TOAD". Jesse was in Heaven.
We went up to Bartlett Lake. It was beautiful there. We stayed for a few nights. We played games all day, did some dutch oven cooking, campfires on the beach and spent the nights out on the boat dock. I loved just being with him. I am one Lucky girl to have such an amazing HUBBY!!
I gave Jesse a hammock for his birthday.. I kind of had a blonde moment. I thought I would give him his present early so he could use it while we were camping.. well needless to say there aren't a whole lot of trees in or around Bartlett Lake, well actually not even in Arizona for that matter. So here is a pic of what we improvised with.
Jesse's AZ CAMPING/ HAMMOCK CAKE : ) I had fun with this one. I made everything out of fondant other than the firewood. ( firewood was large pretzel sticks) and I also hung the hammock with jewelery wire. I did 8 layers of Chocolate cake with Chocolate Bavarian cream filling.

Cute cake Jaymie! Mine didn't come out as wonderful as yours-but it was what dan wanted. Glad you guys had a good time celebrating. Next year we should celebrate our hubby's birthdays together! Talk to you soon!
