We had such a fun day! We love our little Miss Henslee so much and are so grateful for her beautiful spirit in our home. She has taught us more than we could have ever imagined. I know she was meant to be in our family and I couldn't be more grateful for her Birthmom Lindsey for making such a selfless decision in placing her in our family 2 years ago. Happy Birthday sweet girl. Mommy and Daddy Love you more than you will ever know!!
We made a BIG goal to have Henslee walking by the time she turned 2. Henslee has been going to physical therapy once a week since May. She has been very sporadic in her steps. Last week my sister Janelle called and asked how Henslee's walking was doing and at the time she was taking 2 steps and falling. The very next day Janelle loaded her whole family in the car and picked up my sister Kaytie on her way to a 13 hour drive to my house to get Henslee walking. All week everyone continued to work with Henslee. Over and over Henslee was picked up and pushed to walk by her Cousins and Aunts. I couldn't be more grateful to them. They truly were an answer to my prayers because by Henslee's 2nd birthday she was walking. I love ALL of them. THANK YOU THANK YOU for being there for us. I have the best sisters in the world!!!

Hi, my name is Kira and I went to school with Carly. I found your blog off of her blog, she had written a post and mentioned you had adopted. As an adoptive mother myself (and as my Friday night is very uneventful tonight, haha) I came over to your blog and have been looking through it for a while.
Our adoption stories are so similar! Our son was born Nov 2009. We have a very open adoption. His birth mom's best friend found out she was pregnant in January 2010, and placed our daughter with us Sept 2010. I love your story, and how you have wonderful open adoptions as well. So fun to see someone in a similar situation having two kids close in age, and having their birth moms be friends. My blog is kikiplus3.blogspot.com.
